IT Asset Processing Technician

Job Summary
Conduct secure data sanitization on hard drives, SSDs, and other electronic devices using approved software and procedures. Accurately serialize and document assets while maintaining chain-of-custody records and inventory accuracy throughout the processing lifecycle. Perform diagnostic testing and basic hardware troubleshooting to identify faulty components and verify system configurations. Process electronic assets and execute secure data destruction at the Scotia facility, or travel to customer locations up to 20% of the week for on-site serialization and destruction services. Represent EWASTE+ professionally in a customer-facing environment while adhering to all safety, security, and compliance procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new technology and software
- Experience working with desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, tablets, mobile devices, and other electronic hardware
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, networking fundamentals, and common IT equipment
- Ability to identify computer components and understand hardware specifications
- Experience performing diagnostic testing and basic hardware troubleshooting to identify faulty components and verify device functionality
- Familiarity with hard drives, solid-state drives (SSDs), and other electronic data-bearing devices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Reliable personal transportation
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a criminal background check & drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in one or more of the following: Computer repair or hardware diagnostics
- Experience in one or more of the following: Electronics recycling or IT Asset Disposition (ITAD)
- Experience in one or more of the following: Warehouse operations involving electronic equipment
- Experience in one or more of the following: Asset tracking or inventory management
- Experience in one or more of the following: Customer-facing service roles
- Formal IT certifications
- A college degree
