Job Summary

IT Applications Manager responsible for overseeing a portfolio of applications and technology solutions. Manages and supports software development, integration, and IT business & systems analysis efforts; ensures core systems reflect evolving business needs; facilitates interaction between IT development and IT Analyst staff across business units; designs, develops, and maintains integrations for core systems; supervises day-to-day activities of the IT Application Team (software developers, business analysts, web administrator, technical lead, systems analyst). Key duties include staff onboarding and development, performance management, coordinating change management for modified business systems, stakeholder communications, project status reporting, resource allocation, vendor oversight, requirements gathering, business process improvement, disaster recovery and business continuity coverage, and support for IT Director on short- and long-term IT projects. Requires a BA/BS in CS/Management or related field; Master’s preferred; 7+ years’ related experience; strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills; proficiency with MS Office and Oracle, plus knowledge of data/process modeling tools and Guidewire (preferred). This role operates in a general office environment with New Mexico Mutual values-driven culture.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS from accredited 4-year college/university in Computer Science, Management, or related field required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Seven+ years of related experience in a corresponding field, preferably in workers’ compensation or other P&C insurance environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, high-priority tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to guide team, and work with others to accomplish goals; ability to communicate and interact well with other disciplines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Oracle (11g - current versions)
  • Business process modeling/data modeling tools
  • Preferred-Guidewire (Gosu and general knowledge)
