ISSO Portfolio Manager / Team Lead

Job Summary
Lead and mentor a team of ISSOs to deliver high-quality security support while serving as the primary coordination point between ISSO teams and project managers. Build relationships with system owners to position security as a customer-oriented service, managing competing priorities across multiple systems using Agile sprint-based planning. Drive execution of ISSO-related project work, maintain accurate records in JIRA and ServiceNow, and deliver polished security artifacts that meet program standards. Oversee authorization packages, continuous monitoring, and risk reporting to keep systems green on the FISMA scorecard, while participating in SDLC activities to integrate security early. Provide executive-level reporting, train moderate-sized groups on security practices, and assess workload trends to inform resource allocation and hiring priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience
- No degree and 12 years of relevant experience
- CISSP certification
- CASP certification
- CISA certification
- CISM certification
- GSLC certification
- Active certification to support of the contract
- Strong knowledge of NIST RMF
- Strong knowledge of FISMA
- Strong knowledge of modern security practices
- Prior experience as a supervisor or team lead
- Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff
- Experience with vulnerability management
- Experience reviewing systems against federal requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to simplify security for non‐technical partners
- Experience cultivating teams
- Ability to balance quality, speed, and customer expectations
- Public Trust clearance
