Job Summary
Supervise students assigned to in-school suspension for disciplinary reasons, maintaining a highly structured and orderly environment daily. Work with certified teachers to create classroom settings, distribute and check student assignments, and manage individual files. Administer discipline according to board policies and record attendance and referrals. Supervise students during lunch and bathroom breaks while ensuring all interactions remain supportive, courteous, and respectful. Maintain confidentiality and compile required reports and records. Comply with all district safety protocols, legal requirements, and the Professional Code of Ethics. Participate in faculty meetings, staff committees, and professional development activities aligned with District goals. Ensure all programs support high student achievement within Model KISD core organizational beliefs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate
- Valid Educational Aide III Certificate
- Associate degree, two years of study at an institute of higher learning or have met formal academic assessment as required by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) for aides who are providing instructional support in Title I, Part A program
- One (1) year of clerical/secretarial experience (or related experience) in an office setting
- Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed
- Ability to operate multi-line phone system
- Effective public relations, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read; understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations
- Proficient in keyboarding and file maintenance
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions
- Ability to work prolonged or irregular hours
