Job Summary
Engineer, select, configure, and quote products and services to industrial process control clients while formulating creative solutions within logistic constraints. Own and direct the internal flow of quotes and orders for multiple business units, developing technically sound final control process solutions that benefit both the customer and Control Southern. Respond quickly to requests for quotes, orders, and technical support, ensuring purchase orders are processed timely and advocating on the customer's behalf regarding supplier issues. Manage the sales process from quote-to-cash using Sander Selling System processes and Challenger Sale philosophies, while monitoring and protecting profit margins. Participate actively in training assignments and classes. Supports an on-call emergency after-hours phone rotation. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and two years of industry-related experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college
- Two years industry related experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Effective interpersonal and communication (oral & written) skills
- Must be very customer focused
- Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing as necessary
- Ability to remain seated at keyboard for long periods of time during the workday
- Must be available for On-Call Emergency After Hours phone rotation (this could include receiving company issued cell phone at this time)
- Must be available for travel: Five to ten days per year is typical
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred areas of study include mechanical, chemical, biochemical, industrial, materials, and/or electrical engineering
- Process control functions experience
- Exposure to Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software (IFS, Oracle, SAP)
- Experience with customer relationship (CRM) software (Salesforce, ACT!)
