Job Summary
The Island Expansion Engineer is responsible for coordinating and analyzing shop drawings, design specifications, and project data to ensure compliance with quality and contract requirements. This role involves planning field layouts, assisting in project scheduling, providing technical input in the development of design drawings, and coordinating subcontractor work. The engineer evaluates daily production and budget forecasts, documents construction activities, and manages project financials. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, at least two years of construction engineering experience, and one year of marine structure engineering experience. Preferred skills include crane lift planning and familiarity with construction scheduling and financial implications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years of construction engineering experience on heavy civil construction projects
- Minimum 1 year engineering experience involving structures, preferably marine bridge structures
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Skill in verbal and written communication needed
- Proven self-starter and self-motivated to learn and grow knowledge
Desired Qualifications
- Crane lift plan experience
- Knowledge of construction equipment & techniques
- Previous experience in cost coding, cost savings, budget and other project related financial implications
- Knowledge of construction scheduling processes and production time management
