Job Summary
The Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders program at Levine Children’s Hospital is recruiting an established physician-scientist for the Isabella Santos Foundation Endowed Professorship for Pediatric Cancer Research. The role leads the Levine Children’s Pediatric Oncology Research Laboratory (PORL), represents the department within the NCI-designated cancer center network, and advances new therapies for pediatric sarcoma with limited clinical duties. Candidates should be MD or MD/PhD board certified/eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, with a strong track record in basic/translational research, extramural funding, and experience in clinical trials. The PORL supports translational studies in tumor immune microenvironments, immunology, and immunotherapy, and benefits from advanced core facilities and multi-center collaborations. The position includes joining WFSM and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center with opportunities for collaboration across national pediatric oncology consortia, and offers a competitive benefits package and academic leadership responsibilities. Starting with three to five years of initial full salary and research support, this role emphasizes translational research leadership in pediatric sarcoma and collaboration within a large academic healthcare network.
Required Qualifications
- MD or MD/PhD board certified / eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
- established record of productivity in basic/translational research with a focus on pediatric sarcomas
- history of extramural funding (ideally including NCI)
- experience in clinical trials
- leadership of a research laboratory and collaboration within a translational research ecosystem
