Job Summary
Support special education teachers by preparing instructional materials, administering tests, and maintaining classroom order. Conduct individual and small group exercises while assisting students with physical needs, personal care, and behavior management. Supervise students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty, and provide orientation to substitute teachers. Maintain confidentiality and participate in staff development training as assigned. Requires a valid Texas educational aide certificate and High School diploma.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Must be Highly Qualified (HQ)
- Ability to work with children with disabilities
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Some experience working with children
