Job Summary
Senior Director of Building and Grounds at the Irsay Family YMCA oversees maintenance and cleaning operations to ensure a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for members, staff, and volunteers. Leads staff, manages scheduling, training, evaluation, and staff selection; handles maintenance/custodial concerns, purchasing and inventory of supplies/equipment, and monitors building safety and cleanliness. Performs custodial and minor maintenance tasks as needed and may contribute leadership to other center departments or association initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School diploma and an Associate’s degree, or equivalent, required.
- 4-5 years of direct experience and supervision of related technical aspects of housekeeping and general maintenance, operation of small and large machinery (i.e. vacuums, buffers, and hand tools).
- Experience overseeing facility maintenance, custodial operations and safety and cleanliness standards.
- Demonstrated staff supervision experience, including hiring, scheduling, training, and evaluation.
- Supply and equipment purchasing and inventory experience.
- Ability to address and resolve maintenance or custodial complaints.
- Hands-on experience with custodial and minor maintenance tasks.
- Proven leadership ability, including contributing to cross‐departmental or association‐wide initiatives.
