Job Summary
Provide a safe environment for all participants in and around the pool by responding to emergencies and administering CPR and First Aid according to YMCA and American Heart Association guidelines. Maintain current YMCA, American Red Cross, or Ellis and Associates Lifeguard certificates, including First Aid and CPR Healthcare Provider certifications, and pass the basic lifeguard skills test requiring a 500-yard swim. Communicate effectively with people of all ages, cultures, and abilities while working flexible hours. This role offers free membership, 20 hours of child care, and professional development opportunities at the Irsay Family YMCA.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must possess and maintain current YMCA Lifeguard certificate, American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate or Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Certificate, including current First Aid and CPR Healthcare Provider certifications
- Must have the ability to pass basic lifeguard skills test, including swimming 500 yards
- Must possess and have the ability to relate to and communicate with people of all ages, cultures, and abilities
