Job Summary
Assist in hiring, program planning, and overseeing aquatic programs in accordance with YMCA goals and policies. Maintain and improve program quality, enrollment, and retention while building a community atmosphere among members. Interpret program objectives for participants and volunteers, establish positive relationships with staff, parents, and the public, and ensure confidentiality regarding personal information. Complete all position-specific and required training within established deadlines. Minimum age of 16 years required with at least two years of aquatic experience and sufficient swimming ability to pass organization tests.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- High school diploma or its equivalent in work experience
- Minimum of 2 years of aquatic experience
- Sufficient swimming ability to successfully complete organization-required aquatic skills and swim tests relevant to the position
- Exemplary human motivational and relationship skills
- Supervisory skills
- Ability to interpret program objectives to members, participants and volunteers
- Ability to provide communications within and between communities and organizations
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, program participants, and the general public
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children, family and YMCA staff
- Completion of all position-specific and required YMCA training within established deadlines
