Job Summary
Install new irrigation systems according to specifications, set up control valves and piping, and ensure proper alignment for optimal coverage. Conduct routine inspections to diagnose leaks or malfunctions, repair faulty components, and adjust schedules to accommodate weather changes. Monitor water usage to maximize conservation, collaborate with designers on sustainable practices, and maintain accurate records of all installations and maintenance activities. Adhere to safety protocols and relevant regulations while communicating project updates to supervisors or clients.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an irrigation technician or similar role in landscaping, agriculture, or related field
- Proficiency in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation systems, including drip irrigation, sprinkler systems, and controllers
- Knowledge of irrigation principles, water conservation techniques, and sustainable landscaping practices
- Familiarity with irrigation equipment, tools, and materials used in installation and maintenance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications and blueprints accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and supervisors
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks in various weather conditions and outdoor environments
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
