Job Summary

Irrigation Technician installs and maintains irrigation systems for crops, parks, gardens, and other green spaces, operating trenchers and soil compactors. Responsibilities include detailed irrigation inspections and repairs (upgrades later), cleaning water features, excavating and backfilling, maintaining tools and vehicles, training and mentoring junior staff on technical irrigation topics, selecting and installing appropriate nozzles and valves, welding PVC, repairing mainlines and lateral lines, conducting seasonal start-up inspections and drip conversions, performing winterizations, installing and programming conventional and smart controllers, and installing sensors and flow meters to aid water-saving upgrades. Requires knowledge of precipitation rates, proper valve and nozzle selection, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions; strong attention to safety, PPE, and regulatory compliance (e.g., TCEQ license) are essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-5 years prior landscape irrigation experience
  • TCEQ Irrigator's Tech license
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Knowledge of irrigation controller hardware
  • Two wire system experiences
