Job Summary
Irrigation Tech I applies knowledge of irrigation systems to assist with routine monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and seasonal maintenance tasks. This role works under general supervision and follows established procedures to ensure proper system operation. Duties include monitoring and testing new irrigation installations, supporting troubleshooting and repair efforts, evaluating and optimizing pipe and valve placements, assisting with seasonal tasks such as start-ups and winterizations, participating in routine inspections and recording findings, and assisting with basic system adjustments and minor repairs. Requirements include 0-1 year of experience in irrigation installation, inspection, and repair, a valid driver’s license, bilingual Spanish, knowledge of trenchers, multi-meters, wire locators, ditchers and pipe sizing, ability to read site maps, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions; physical ability for extended periods of manual labor; willingness to work flexible hours including weekends or holidays if needed. Required Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers)
- Knowledge of trenchers, multi-meters, wire locators, ditchers and pipe sizing
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Able to read site maps and color-coded charts/legends
- Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor
