Job Summary
The Irrigation Specialist - Golf is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and installation of irrigation systems, including mainline, lateral line, valves, and electrical components. This role utilizes GIS equipment, conducts troubleshooting, maintains records, and ensures efficient irrigation programming with smart controllers. The position requires physical stamina to lift heavy objects, operate various machinery, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of irrigation practices and safety procedures, along with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with the public.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance
- At least 1 year of irrigation experience
- Class B Commercial Driver’s License with airbrakes and tanker endorsement
- Annual reuse water training cert
- Cross Connection Control and Backflow Prevention Device Tester Certifications (if employed in Parks Division)
- Commercial Operator pesticide license (if employed in Golf Division)
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Irrigation Technician (Irrigation Association)
- Certified Landscape Technician- Irrigation (National Association of Landscape Professionals)
- Confined space certification
- Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (Irrigation Association)
Additional Requirements
- May require a thorough criminal background check
- Drug testing required for selected candidates
