Job Summary
Read specifications and blueprints to determine material locations and sizes. Hang, connect, and install iron; cut, position, and bolt down steel bars. Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts while following supervisor instructions. Direct crane operation to move structural steel and reinforcing bars onto the site. Perform quality control inspections, ensure proper fitting, and complete necessary repairs. Maintain personal hand tools and meet established production standards. This role requires a valid driver's license, background check clearance, drug screen, and OSHA certification. Applicants must possess work authorization in the US and at least five years of ironworking experience. Schedule involves working outside, inside, and in hazardous areas, including high places and all weather conditions. Physical demands include lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally and frequent force up to 50 lbs. Local Austin, TX area workers only.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE or STATE ID.
- Must PASS BACKGROUND CHECK - No Felonies or Misdemeanor Classes A and B.
- Must PASS DRUG SCREEN.
- Must either have OSHA 10 or 30 Certificate or Certificate of Completion, or is willing to go through the class right away.
- Must have WORK AUTHORIZATION in US.
- LOCAL area workers only. (Austin, TX and suburbs).
- A minimum of 5 years of ironworking experience is required.
- Must have a working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Ability to exert greater than negligible up to 22 pounds of force to move objects constantly.
- Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy, and hazardous areas.
- Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces, and/or other adverse locations.
- Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
- Work in all types of weather.
