Job Summary
Read blueprints, sketches, and instructions to establish and install steel or iron frames for buildings and structures. Unload and stack prefabricated materials for crane lifting, then signal operators to position structural iron and steel. Use shears, torches, and welding equipment to cut, bend, and weld components, while aligning them vertically and horizontally with tag lines, plumb bobs, and lasers. Connect materials with bolts, wire, or welds, and install metal decking. Must be able to lift 75 pounds and pass a drug test. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an apprenticeship or experience in the field
- Ability to pass per-employment drug-test
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds
- Pre-employment physical and drug testing are required
