Job Summary
Iron Worker responsible for unloading, positioning, aligning, and bolting or welding structural steel components on commercial and industrial construction projects. Key duties include raising, placing, and connecting girders, columns, and other steel members; using tag lines and rigging tools to align components; assisting with rigging and crane signaling as a certified signalperson when needed; performing tack welding, cutting, and grinding; ensuring welds meet quality standards; following OSHA safety procedures and participating in daily safety meetings; reading erection drawings and bolt-up plans; coordinating with foremen and crane operators; traveling nationwide for project participation.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of structural steel erection experience
- Strong understanding of rigging, crane signaling, and steel connections
- Familiarity with welding (certification preferred)
- OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
