Job Summary
Performs a combination of duties to raise, place, and unite girders, columns, and other structural-steel members to form completed structures or frameworks. Responsibilities include setting up hoisting equipment, signaling for lifting, aligning bolt holes, verifying vertical and horizontal alignment, connecting structural steel iron and I-beams, and cutting and fitting structural steel. Requires strong adherence to safety standards, and successful completion of necessary training and certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience
- Must be able to complete the NCCER certification for your craft
- Must be able to complete the Matrix Service Safety training and Client / Site specific training
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program
- General knowledge of basic hand tools
- Ability to bold-up and connect Structural Steel Iron and I-beams
- Ability to cut, fit and fabricate all kinds of structural steel iron
Additional Requirements
- Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind; and must be able to work for long periods of times up to 12 hours a day
