IRL Supervisor

IRL Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the assigned reference laboratory, supervises staff performing basic and advanced test procedures, and interprets complex results to determine donor/recipient compatibility. Responsibilities include advising technologists on compatibility problems, providing reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion facilities, ensuring quality and adequacy of testing, performing or supervising donor/patient testing and quality control, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, managing personnel (hiring, training, coaching, evaluating), and collaborating with the Medical Director to ensure appropriate patient care. The role emphasizes leadership, troubleshooting serological issues, ensuring antigen-negative unit supply, budgeting oversight, and delivering strong customer service with a focus on teamwork and compliance. Standard schedule is Day shift, Monday–Friday, with flexible start/end times based on operational needs; pay ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.
