IPU Hospice Registered Nurse, RN PRN

Job Summary
Coordinate and provide the highest level of hospice care to patients and families by organizing patient care through an interdisciplinary group approach. Deliver hands-on clinical nursing including symptom management, wound care, and visit coverage for admission, expiration, and imminent death. Assess and implement pain/symptom management programs utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods while utilizing the e-prescribe system for medication ordering. Educate patients and families on disease processes, expectations, and the hospice philosophy covering physical, psychological, spiritual, and financial comfort. Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings to update the Plan of Care and ensure all services align with patient needs. Provide availability for the week by 9 am each Monday morning and contact the Director of Patient Care Services at least two hours prior to work time if absent or late.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse from an accredited program
- currently licensed and in good standing with the State Board of Nursing in the state of licensure of the hospice program
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience in nursing in an acute care setting
- 1 year of experience in home health, hospice, or comparable experience
