Job Summary
Provide students with core academic instruction in the assigned subject, develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum, assess student learning and accommodate individual differences, collaborate with special education staff for IEPs, manage classroom environment and communicate with parents, sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned, and participate in staff development and district activities. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or related training per DOI, subject-area competency, and, for PE roles, AED/CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- AED and CPR certificate for Physical Education teachers (if applicable)
