Job Summary
IP Training & Project Specialist supports the IP management team in executing IP projects and specialized training programs. Responsibilities include creating and delivering comprehensive IP training for new and existing members, evaluating performance for development opportunities, staying current on USPTO and foreign patent prosecution rules, developing and reinforcing best practices and quality standards, evaluating processes for alignment with regulatory changes, and assisting with testing and implementation of IP-related software. Requires a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of domestic patent prosecution experience in a law firm or professional services environment; strong IP knowledge, project management capabilities, and proficiency with MS Office and IP software; strong communication and collaboration skills. The role reports to the Director, IP Operations and is based in Boston, MA with a full-time schedule; salary range $80,000–$95,000 depending on location and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years domestic patent prosecution experience in a law firm or professional services environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of IP prosecution terminology, requirements, and workflow
- Demonstrated comfort in a professional teaching/training role
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Proficient with IP-related software applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Effective time management and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments
