Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, treat, and help prevent speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. Develop or implement treatment plans for issues including stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, inappropriate pitch, harsh voice problems, and social communication disorders. Requires a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders and Sciences, an active Missouri license, and preferred prior hospital experience. Schedule includes 40 weekly hours from 8:00-4:30 on a rotating shift.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders and Sciences
- License or Provisional License of Speech Language Pathology active in the state of Missouri
- BLS certification obtained within 90 days of hire
- Pass the Board approved national examination within 12 months of receiving the provisional license
- Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision
- Must have good communication skills
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Prior one year hospital/health care related experience
- Demonstrated interest in professional growth by attendance at continuing education workshops
- Applications of new principles and/or techniques
