Job Summary
IP Facility Coder III - CCS to code inpatient/outpatient hospital records, ED, Home Health & Hospice, and/or professional services using ICD-9/10-CM and CPT-4. Responsibilities include reviewing records, assigning CPT/ICD/MS-DRG codes, researching records across multiple systems, generating queries to support appropriate reimbursement, ensuring adherence to policies, and staying current with ICD/CPT/HCPCS/DRG updates. Qualifications require a high school diploma/GED, one of CCS/CCS-P/CPC-H or RHIT/RHIA with credential achieved within one year, and 3–5 years of coding experience. Location is Reverend Hugh Cooper Administrative Center, Albuquerque, NM, USA; on-site expectat ion with full-time employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Must have any one of the following coding certifications at time of hire: CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA with achievement of one of the coding credentials above within one year of hire.
- Three to five years experience as a coder
