Job Summary
IP Docketing Specialist for US and foreign patent and trademark docketing supporting IP attorneys and professionals. Responsible for processing mail and docket deadlines, entering new matters, generating and distributing specialized docket reports, maintaining and updating the docketing system, and assisting with patent maintenance fees and trademark renewal workflows. Requires researching IP status across USPTO, WIPO, EPO, EUIPO and other databases, ensuring timely, accurate docketing and adherence to firm policies. Remote role in the U.S. with a salary range of $70,000–$95,000; requires at least five years of substantive IP docketing experience, a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination), and strong knowledge of patents, trademarks, and docketing procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in a business-related field; equivalent combination of an Associate’s degree and related experience will be considered
- At least five years of substantive IP docketing experience at a major law firm or corporation
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. and foreign patents, PAIR, Trademarks, and PCT
- CPI or Pattsy experience strongly preferred
- Experience with IPR, PTAB, and/or TTAB proceedings is a plus
- Working knowledge of USPTO procedures, 37 C.F.R., the MPEP, and the TMEP; commitment to staying current with rule changes
- Strong substantive knowledge of docketing requirements
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with diplomacy
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS Word, Outlook, Excel)
