Job Summary
Review, docket, and distribute high volumes of incoming correspondence from the USPTO, WIPO, and foreign associates. Update docket entries based on filing receipts, confirmations, attorney instructions, and daily monitoring to ensure all deadlines are met. Perform monthly status checks on pending US patent applications, respond to internal inquiries, and generate reports. Save correspondence in the document management system to maintain electronic files. Requires 6+ years of IP experience, proficiency with the Foundation IP docketing system, and MS Office applications.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of US and International patent and trademark prosecution processes and their associated rules and procedures
- Analytical reasoning skills and ability to interpret rules and instructions accurately
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Comfortable and efficient at calculating dates
- Detail oriented; ability to perform routine tasks and maintain concentration for long period of time
- Ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work; excellent proofreading skills
- Proficient with MS Office applications
- 6+ years intellectual property experience in a law firm or legal services environment
- Prior IP docketing experience
- Prior IP docketing experience using Foundation IP docketing system
Desired Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree preferred
