Job Summary
Record neurophysiologic potentials using electronic equipment to diagnose and prognose nervous system conditions. Perform multi-modality complex intraoperative monitoring, including BAERs, complex scoliosis, carotid endarterectomy, and MVD, under indirect supervision of an IONM Specialist III, Coordinator, or physician. Maintain competency in basic medical terminology, human anatomy, and accurate physical patient observations while implementing detailed therapeutic instructions. Take call and work irregular hours, rotating shifts, and weekends as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a health science
- Associate's degree with one or more neurodiagnostic registries (R. EEG, R. EP, R. NCS)
- Completion of an Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program that is CAAHEP accredited and one or more neurodiagnostic registries (R. EEG, R. EP, R. NCS)
- Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Intraoperative monitoring
- Competency in performing multi-modality complex Intraoperative monitoring including BAERs, complex scoliosis, carotid endarterectomy, and MVD
- Must take call
- Considerable knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Knowledge of human anatomy
- Ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of complex therapeutic procedures
- Ability to make accurate physical observations of patients
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
