Job Summary
Conduct intraoperative neuromonitoring by meeting patients pre-surgery, reviewing histories, and explaining neuromonitoring safety. Continuously interpret electrophysiological data, spot early warning signs, and alert the surgical team in real time during complex spinal or neurological procedures. Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to influence surgical decisions, document findings with precision, and contribute to continuous quality improvement. Interpret complex waveforms, correlate findings with surgical events, and maintain data integrity throughout the case. This active, hands-on role requires standing for extended periods, transporting up to 45 lbs of equipment, and adhering to safety protocols in real surgical environments. Schedule flexibility and on-call availability are required.
Required Qualifications
- CNIM certified or CNIM-eligible
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
- Minimum 1 year of IONM experience
- Strong foundation in neuroanatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- AHA CPR certified
- Valid Driver's License
- A communicator and a collaborator — equally comfortable working independently or as part of a surgical team
- Schedule flexibility required, including on-call availability
- Exposure to OR environments
- Adherence to safety protocols
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in neuroscience or a related field
- Experience with advanced neuromonitoring modalities
