Job Summary

Counsel for Lincoln’s Investments Legal Team providing proactive legal advice on commercial mortgage loan origination, servicing, workouts, and foreclosures, plus real estate facilities matters and leasing activities nationwide. Works with Lincoln’s Mortgage and Real Estate Team, directs outside counsel, and monitors investment-regulatory developments under state insurance law. Supports change initiatives and process improvements to enhance quality, delivering clear, concise guidance to investment professionals and senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • J.D. from ABA-approved law school
  • Bar admission in good standing
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree (minimum)
  • 3-5+ years real estate transactions experience
  • Ability to read, analyze real estate law and transaction documentation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences
  • Experience with commercial mortgage lending transactions (nice to have)
  • Graduate law degree (J.D.) and licensure to practice law

Desired Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience counseling clients with respect to real estate transactions
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret real estate law and transaction documentation
  • Ability to analyze a variety of legal issues, synthesize complex information and communicate to business professionals in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from diverse audiences including investment professionals, senior leadership and other stakeholders
  • Graduate degree in J.D. from an American Bar Association approved school and a member of a state Bar in good standing is required
