Job Summary
Ensure daily collection, input, balancing, and reconciliation of data for the Total Fund Dashboard, resolving or escalating process issues as required. Build and maintain Power BI dashboards while coordinating with investment support and finance areas to verify accurate inputs for valuation and accounting. Calculate performance results and attribution factors at the Total Fund, asset class, and business unit levels, alongside exposure reporting by country, currency, and sector. Monitor portfolio compliance against internal and external regulatory policies, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met daily, weekly, and monthly. Recommend and implement continuous improvements to reporting efficiency and reliability. Develop relationships with Investment, Finance, and Risk colleagues to understand new product developments and strategies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards including GIPS and provide comprehensive analysis on pension industry performance and public market survey results. Add value to investment processes by providing in-depth analysis and ad hoc reporting to Senior Management.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting investment performance measurement, attribution analysis, exposure reporting, and financial reporting for investment portfolios and funds
- Understanding of investment products and asset classes with the ability to resolve issues and support reporting requirements
- Strong technical skills in Excel, Power BI, and SQL, with experience building dashboards, analyzing large datasets, reconciling investment data, and producing accurate and timely management reporting
- 2-4 years of experience in a financial institution at the Analyst level assembling and delivering financial information related to performance and exposure of investment products and portfolios
- Understanding of investment performance and attribution, risk, exposure, and financial reporting issues
- An understanding of investment products including bonds, equities, derivatives and alternative investments, such as: private equity, real estate and infrastructure
- University degree in Business, Math or related discipline
- Required to hold a CFA or CIPM designation or be working towards qualification
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex analysis and manage/resolve issues
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process enhancements to ensure that activities are completed in an efficient manner and add value
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI, capable of developing advanced spreadsheets/BI dashboards, conducting data analysis, and creating impactful visual presentations and dashboards
- Solid working knowledge of SQL (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server) is required to support data extraction and reporting
- Comfort with writing and understanding basic queries
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work as part of a team, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 4 days per week in the office
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation would be an asset, but not required
