Job Summary
Vice President in Private Capital Advisory & Solutions will originate, structure, and execute private market transactions (including private equity placements, growth capital, pre-IPO financings, secondaries, minority recapitalizations, and other bespoke financing solutions). Serve as the primary day-to-day client point of contact and lead banker, coordinate junior bankers, refine marketing materials (CIMs, investor presentations, term sheets), oversee financial projection models and valuations, identify and manage risks, liaise with lawyers/accountants/investors, lead client negotiations and Q&A, and support origination and execution of private placements and direct lending.
Required Qualifications
- Prior work experience in an investment banking front office role, ideally with exposure to private capital markets or private placements
- Experience in training and mentoring junior bankers
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including advanced Excel modeling and valuation work
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, with the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative solutions
- Adaptability, able to manage projects independently and ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team
- Ability to interact comfortably with clients in a professional and mature manner
- Excellent understanding of financial, legal, and reputational risks facing large integrated investment banks in today’s environment, particularly in private capital transactions
