Job Summary
Senior Investment Banking Vice President for the Media & Communications sector leading deals and acting as primary client contact, coordinating analysts, refining marketing/execution materials, overseeing financial projection models, managing deal risks, liaising with lawyers/accountants and other product partners, leading client negotiations and management presentations, serving as sector captain for at least one sub-vertical, establishing relationships with corporate clients and private equity sponsors, and sourcing new deal opportunities in coordination with senior bankers. The role requires strong communication, quantitative/analytical skills, ability to work under tight deadlines, and the ability to operate independently within a team, in New York, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Prior work experience in an investment banking front office role, preferably at the Senior Associate or Vice President level at a money center or boutique investment bank
- Experience in training junior bankers
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity
- Very strong quantitative and analytical skills (including Excel modelling and valuation work)
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, and have the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and to develop innovative solutions
- Adaptability, able to manage projects independently and be ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team
- Ability to comfortably interact with clients in a professional and mature manner
- Excellent understanding of financial, legal and reputational risks facing large integrated investment banks in today's environment banks
