Job Summary
EC M&A seeks an Associate for its New York office, offering a highly entrepreneurial role with opportunity to drive project execution, interface with clients, acquirers and acquisition targets, and support senior bankers in various M&A transactions and marketing efforts. As a second-year Associate, you will work closely with Managing Directors and Directors, gain access to senior-level clients, and mentor analysts and interns. Responsibilities include supporting senior bankers in buy-side and sell-side execution; developing financial models, presentations and pitchbooks; conducting company and industry research; identifying buyers or targets; drafting marketing materials (teasers, confidential information memoranda, etc.); negotiating confidentiality agreements; interfacing with clients, buyers and targets; providing due diligence and transaction support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent, with a focus on finance or accounting; MBA is preferred but not required
- Minimum of three years of investment banking experience required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Experience with databases such as PitchBook, Capital IQ, Orbis, MergerMarket, etc.
