Job Summary
Develop investigation plans and conduct prompt, unbiased inquiries into allegations under Title IX, Title VII, Title VI, ADA, and Section 504. Gather and evaluate evidence including digital records, physical materials, and witness testimonies while ensuring legal and ethical compliance. Perform trauma-informed, culturally competent interviews with complainants, respondents, and stakeholders to synthesize complex fact patterns. Prepare comprehensive, well-reasoned investigative reports supporting fair, evidence-based resolutions and collaborate with client legal and HR teams on case implementation. Maintain accurate, confidential case records for compliance reporting and audits. Stay current on legal developments affecting civil rights compliance in education and employment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience conducting prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into complaints of discrimination, harassment, and other misconduct arising under civil rights laws and institutional policies
- Knowledge of Title IX, Title VII, Title VI, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
- Ability to gather and analyze evidence, including documentation, digital records, and physical evidence
- Experience conducting comprehensive, trauma-informed, and culturally competent interviews with complainants, respondents, witnesses, and other relevant parties
- Ability to analyze complex fact patterns, synthesize evidence, and prepare clear, well-organized investigative reports
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding civil rights compliance in education and employment
- Experience collaborating with Title IX Coordinators, Human Resources, Equal Opportunity, Legal Counsel, and other stakeholders
- Ability to contribute to the design and delivery of client trainings on civil rights compliance, investigations, and related topics
- Ability to maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential case records
- Ability to stay abreast of legal developments and guidance affecting civil rights compliance in education and employment
