Job Summary
Investigator roles based in Auckland within MBIE's Immigration Compliance and Investigations branch. Responsibilities include investigating high-level and general Immigration Act offending and non-compliance, exposure to a variety of immigration-related investigations (including migrant exploitation), and contributing to regulatory expertise in an intelligence-informed environment. The team focuses on preventing and responding to immigration-related issues, with an emphasis on protecting vulnerable complainants and witnesses, managing risk, and maintaining confidentiality. The role offers a permanent position in Auckland, with opportunities to grow within MBIE’s regulatory service delivery group. Requirements include a sound understanding of NZ legislation in investigations and prosecutions, ability to communicate effectively, and experience undertaking complex criminal investigations in a team setting.
