Job Summary
Tenure-track Investigator (High Scarcity) in Vascular Neurosurgery — NIH/NINDS SNB seeks an outstanding neurosurgeon-scientist focusing on cerebrovascular disorders to lead a cutting-edge research program while providing clinical care at the NIH Clinical Center. Primary appointment will be in the Surgical Neurology Branch with a secondary appointment in the Stroke Branch; the role includes developing and directing a productive research program, participating in clinical studies, and collaborating across intramural branches. Preferred candidates will actively research cerebrovascular biology and pathophysiology, remain an active practicing neurosurgeon, and hold an MD, DO, or MD/PhD with board eligibility or certification. Salary is competitive with premier academic institutions, and opportunities for additional clinical work at outside academic medical centers may be available. The position is located in Bethesda, MD; NIH offers a full civil service benefits package and equity in clinical/research opportunities.
