Job Summary

Tenure-track Investigator in the Surgical Neurology Branch at NIH/NINDS seeking a neurosurgeon-scientist to lead an independent program centered on tumors of the central and peripheral nervous system. The role combines clinical neurosurgery with basic, translational, and clinical research; the incumbent will participate in clinical studies and patient care at the NIH Clinical Center and will develop and direct an original research program that informs clinical work. Preferred candidates will actively pursue understanding the biology and pathophysiology of CNS/PNS tumors, collaborate with neuro-oncology, neuropathology, and radiation oncology researchers, and maintain board eligibility or certification. The position offers opportunities for additional clinical work outside NIH and is located within NIH’s intramural research program.

Required Qualifications
