Job Summary
Investigator (High Scarcity) in Tumor Neurosurgery seeks a neurosurgeon-scientist to lead a cutting-edge research program at NIH/NINDS SNB. The incumbent will participate in clinical care at the NIH Clinical Center, conduct basic/translational/clinical research on central and peripheral nervous system tumors, and develop a productive, original research portfolio. Preferred candidates will be active practicing neurosurgeons with MD, DO, or MD/PhD degrees and board eligibility or certification, and will collaborate with neuro-oncology, neuropathology, and radiation oncology researchers. The position is full-time, located in Bethesda, MD, with competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive civil service benefits package. Required Qualifications
- M.D., D.O., or M.D./Ph.D. degree (or equivalent)
- board eligibility or board certification
- eligible for valid work authorization in the United States
- tenure-track investigator qualifications
- clinical care responsibilities including surgical neurology
- leadership in developing a cutting-edge research program
- collaboration with neuro-oncology, neuropathology, and radiation oncology
