Job Summary

The NIH’s NINDS Surgical Neurology Branch seeks an outstanding neurosurgeon-scientist focused on central and peripheral nervous system tumors for a Tenure-Track Investigator (High Scarcity) to conduct a cutting-edge research program while providing clinical neurosurgical care at the NIH Clinical Center. Responsibilities include developing and directing an original, productive research program; participating in clinical studies and patient care; teaching and mentoring; collaboration with neuro-oncology, neuropathology, and radiation oncology teams; and opportunities for additional clinical work at outside academic centers. Preferred candidates have an active research program on CNS tumors, hold M.D., D.O., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees, and board eligibility/certification. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience; full civil service benefits are available. Applicants must submit CV, bibliography, and references; a 1–2 page statement is encouraged. Required Qualifications

  • MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent)
  • board eligibility or board certification
  • active practicing neurosurgeon
  • eligible for valid work authorization in the US
