Job Summary
Investigator (High Scarcity) in Tumor Neurosurgery at NIH/NINDS SNB seeks a neurosurgeon-scientist to lead a tenure-track research program while providing clinical care of patients at the NIH Clinical Center. The role combines basic, translational, and clinical research with active neurosurgical practice, collaboration with neuro-oncology, neuropathology, and radiation oncology researchers, and opportunities for clinical work at outside centers. Candidate must hold an MD, DO, or MD/PhD (or equivalent) and have board eligibility or certification. Applicants should demonstrate an outstanding ability to structure and communicate an original, productive research program focused on central and peripheral nervous system tumors, participate in first-in-human and proof-of-concept trials, and contribute to collaborative, multidisciplinary teams. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience; full civil service benefits are available, and appointees may be US citizens, permanent residents, or eligible non-US citizens for work authorization.

- active practicing neurosurgeon
- preference for research in tumor biology of central and peripheral nervous system
- ability to develop and direct a cutting-edge research program
