Job Summary
Conduct covert surveillance from a vehicle to track and capture high-quality video evidence of insurance claim targets. Prepare assignments by reviewing preliminary reports, then draft detailed, court-ready investigative reports summarizing activity and key findings. Finalize case files by submitting reports and uploading video footage via personal laptop at the end of the day. Work closely with field supervisors and operations teams for regular guidance and mentorship. Perform both stationary and mobile surveillance while maintaining alertness in weather conditions, with typical workdays ranging from 3-12 hours starting at 6:00 AM. Weekends and holidays are common workdays as claimants are more likely to be active.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in covert surveillance techniques
- Capturing high-quality video footage
- Preparing thorough, well-organized investigative reports
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of automobile insurance
- A well-maintained vehicle that is always reliable
- A handheld camcorder with high-quality zoom
- A covert camera device
- A reliable laptop
- A cell phone
- Internet service
- Active Private Investigator license or willingness to obtain one (where required by state)
- Ability to travel within a 2-hour drive of residence
- Availability for occasional further travel and overnight stays
- Availability for workdays starting at 6:00AM
- Availability for workdays lasting 3-12 hours
- Availability for weekends and holidays
- Ability to work alone in a vehicle regardless of weather conditions
- Ability to remain alert with no external distractions
- Willingness to undergo a background check
