Job Summary
Experienced Field Investigator to conduct stationary and mobile surveillance for fraud detection in insurance claims. Responsibilities include preparing for surveillance by reviewing case information, performing covert surveillance from a vehicle to capture high-quality video evidence, drafting thorough, court-ready investigative reports, and finalizing case files with video footage and documentation. Requires a valid driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle, surveillance equipment, and access to a laptop and internet. Independent role with long hours, potential overnight stays, and frequent weekends; some travel within a roughly 2-hour drive of residence.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance
- Private Investigator license or willingness to obtain one (where required by state)
- A reliable personal vehicle in good condition
- Surveillance equipment including handheld camcorder with high-quality zoom and covert camera device
- Ability to operate a laptop, cell phone, and internet for administrative tasks
- Experience with covert surveillance techniques and producing thorough investigative reports
