Job Summary

Lead and conduct regulatory investigations under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006, compile prosecution briefs of evidence, and prepare accurate reports. Responsibilities include administrative/client services duties, contributing to policy/procedure development, and building partnerships with Registered Aboriginal Parties and other stakeholders. Involves training for Authorised Officers and Aboriginal Heritage Officers, and developing internal policies. Travel across Victoria is required; a current Victorian driver’s license is required. Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, manage stakeholder relationships, analyze and report with clear writing, and communicate effectively. Preference for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. Flexible Australian government role with opportunities to contribute to truth, treaty, self-determination and cultural rights initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or similar, or the ability to obtain the relevant qualification within 6 months of commencement in the role.
