Job Summary
Investigative Reporter based in Austin, TX, responsible for reporting investigative stories for on-air and online platforms (KUT News, Texas Standard, and statewide public radio partners). Responsibilities include reporting own stories, collaborating with colleagues across Texas public radio stations, engaging diverse audiences, participating in editorial meetings, editing sessions, occasional quick-turn pieces, and on-air fundraising appearances. Candidate should excel in accountability-focused storytelling, possess strong interviewing and writing skills, experience with audio and digital storytelling, and the ability to build a varied network of sources under tight deadlines. Fluency in Spanish and knowledge of Texas issues are preferred. Salary starts at $70,000 and varies with qualifications; exempt, full-time position based in Austin with regular travel for field reporting as needed.
