Job Summary
Conduct hard investigative enterprise stories from pitch to air, cultivating sources, digging up material from scratch, and organizing multiple stories simultaneously. Research, write, and produce content for WAVY-TV 10 / WVBT FOX 43, ensuring online success through story posts to WAVY.com. Acquire relevant public records by searching court databases and filing FOIA requests. Work within a team of reporters, photographers, and managers while maintaining supreme ethical standards and professional journalistic techniques. Overnights, nights, and weekends may be required, including holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Several years of experience as an investigative reporter/producer delivering enterprise stories from pitch to air
- A history of on-air work at a commercial television station
- How to acquire relevant public records by searching court databases and filing FOIA requests
- Proven track record of strong journalistic skills
- Supreme ethical standards
- Professional and fair in investigative newsgathering techniques
- Willing and able to work any and all shifts, including holidays
- Link to demo reel in cover letter or resume
