Job Summary
Inventory Support Specialist assists the Project Manager / Inventory Coordinator with field-based physical inventory counts, maintaining stock records, documenting storage areas and item placement, identifying discrepancies, organizing storage areas, packaging/disposition of excess or expired inventory, receiving and inspecting deliveries, and entering inventory transactions into management systems. Requires high attention to detail, ability to travel between client sites, proficiency with Excel, ability to lift up to 35 pounds, and compliance with safety and background check requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, retail stock management, or a related field
- Ability to perform accurate physical inventory counts and maintain detailed records
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data entry applications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inventory discrepancies
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with the ability to travel between client sites regularly
- Ability to successfully pass a State and Federal fingerprint background check in accordance with 45 CFR §1302.90
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, crouching, and reaching for extended periods
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting a collaborative team environment
- Preferred: Experience in educational, healthcare, or government program environments
- Preferred: FIFO inventory rotation, expiration tracking, or shelf-life management
- Preferred: Experience receiving and inspecting deliveries and documenting discrepancies
- Preferred: Experience working across multiple locations with limited day-to-day supervision
