Job Summary
Manage a small team of Inventory Specialists at the new El Paso warehouse, overseeing receiving, picking, kit assembly, and delivery of parts for planned and unplanned maintenance. Lead daily operations including assigning tasks, approving timecards, conducting coaching, and maintaining training records while ensuring timely and accurate ERP transactions for all material movements. Design the initial facility layout, select racking solutions, and define material flow processes to optimize space utilization and support Lean initiatives like 5S and Kaizen. Build and manage a cycle counting program to maintain 99%+ inventory accuracy and resolve work order consumption errors. Collaborate with Site Operations, Production, Planning, and Procurement teams to ensure maintenance readiness and clear space for high-velocity components.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience in managing a team
- Proven ability to lead and schedule staff
- Conduct performance coaching
- Assist with hiring and training new employees
- Deep understanding of warehousing processes and regulations
- Knowledge of ERP/WMS systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of security and safety operations
- Ability to respond immediately to emergencies
- Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Proficiency with MS Excel
- Proficiency with ERP/WMS
- Proficiency with other MS Office tools
- Knowledge of Warehouse Best Practices
- Knowledge of SOX rules
- Knowledge of Inventory Count procedures
- Experience operating various types of forklifts
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting
- Stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions
- Strength to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
- Ability to be a self-starter
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to meet deadlines on their own initiative
