Inventory Specialist

Inventory Specialist to manage the hospital’s inventory systems and ensure supplies needed for veterinary care. Key duties include handling purchase orders within policy and budget, tracking backorders and inaccuracies, maintaining stock levels and reorder quantities in the practice management software, supervising barcoding, overseeing stock rotation (FIFO), coordinating returns of overstock/short-dated items to vendors for credit, assisting with periodic inventory counts (including DEA/BNDD logging and audits), updating inventory costs and pricing in software to reflect accurate margins, identifying waste, auditing patient visit lists and open transactions for missed charges, and documenting KPIs while guiding team members with supervision support.
