Job Summary
Develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize costs and optimize stock levels by forecasting needs based on sales projections and production schedules. Identify and qualify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships while issuing purchase orders and tracking deliveries. Maintain accurate inventory records, reconcile discrepancies, and conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance. Analyze data to improve purchasing efficiency and reduce costs, while implementing management software and training staff. Supervise inventory control personnel and stay abreast of industry best practices. This critical role supports company operations through efficient procurement and cost-effective inventory management within a dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Supply Chain Management, or Verifiable On The Job Experience
- 5+ years of experience in inventory management and purchasing
- Proven ability to develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize costs and optimize stock levels
- Experience with forecasting inventory needs, identifying and qualifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships
- Strong proficiency in inventory management software and systems
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
